The artist<\/h3>\n

An artist borrowing from modernity, Bernard Quentin was a key player in the development of twentieth century art. His plastic research beyond the classical forms of painting and sculpture of the early 1960s coincided with his new passion for air and pneumatic sculpture. He then produced totemic statues and especially his first inflatable sculptures (the Cybules, the Venus of Chicago) which, called for monumental interventions in the landscapes, would be seen as heralds of Land Art.<\/p>\n
