Jean Brillant’s work stands out for its playful nature and movement, despite the use of materials such as stone and metal. His artistic approach is based on an “economy of materials”, combining these two elements to create enduring pieces. Brillant considers stone to be “alive”, and it is from this natural material that metal emerges. His artistic creation is rooted in the duality between man and his natural environment, where nature is controlled and often diverted by man.

As one explores Jean Brillant’s works, one discovers a world where memories of fictional journeys take shape. His pieces bear witness to structural changes, where materials seem to transform and adapt to new realities. Brillant draws his inspiration as much from the particularities of the territories from which his pieces originate as from the universality of timeless, philosophical, or mytholocial narratives. Above all, however, he invites a subjective, physical, and emotional interpretation of his creations, encouraging viewers to bring their own stories to life through his works.

Jean Brillant wants everyone to interact with his works, inviting us to discover and question them. Some of his pieces are specially designed so that viewers can enter them, participate in their stories, and make them their own. This interaction between the work and the viewer creates a unique bond, where art becomes a personal and immersive experience.
